Welcome aboard

Hello to my very first readers. If you're reading this, you are either a friend of mine (probably) or you have a serious interest in high quality audio (hopefully).

Simply put, I decided to make this page when I couldn't locate one like it. This page will review vinyl records, new and old, exclusively. And most importantly, opinions on the quality of the music will be discussed as a secondary issue. The focus will be on the quality of the vinyl listening experience. As even the least experienced turntable fan knows, while some records sound warm and vibrant, some suffer from mixing / mastering issues that make them sound harsh and unnatural. Even a highly compressed MP3 can sometimes sound better than a poorly made record. I am more than willing to pay $30+ for a terrific listening experience, but how do you know how the record will sound until you've already shelled out the money? Hopefully you can come here and find out. And if you have a record you'd like reviewed, just let me know and I'll do what I can for you.

Just so you know, I do NOT have an audiophile turntable setup. I have an Audio-Technica PL120 turntable run through a simple Panasonic preamp and speakers. While I might gradually improve my system in the coming months / years, I feel that keeping things simple with an affordable consumer system will make my reviews more accurate and appropriate for all listeners.

I'll be striving for a minimum of one review per day, Monday - Friday. We'll see if I can keep that up.
